Preparing for Job Interview
1. Preliminary
♦ Step - 1: Ask and analyse yourself (i.e. you and your expectations)
♦ Step - 2: Collect the information about the company, the job
♦ Step - 3: Take Decision
♦ If Step - 1 > Step - 2: Seek other Job
♦ If Step - 1 = Step - 2: Compromise
♦ If Step - 1 < Step - 2: Go for Job
2. Resume Writing Precautions
♦ Prepare Resume preferably on good quality A4 paper.
♦ Avoid undue stuff.
♦ Never prepare a rigid resume.
♦ Never give such information which you don't own.
♦ Highlight your strengths and achievements.
3. Covering Letter
♦ Covering letter helps in convincing the reader to look at your Resume.
♦ Every covering letter should fit one page and contain the Salutation part, the Opening part, the Context part and the Conclusion.
4. Prepare for the probable questions at the Interview.
♦ Reach the Interview place in time. If you are new to place, visit the place first.
♦ Put all your preliminaries such as Resume copies, phone number of the contact person, etc. well in place.
♦ The underlying philosophy is "First Impression is the Last Impression."
♦ Therefore, good appearance is must.
5. Conduct at Interviews
♦ Knock before you enter.
♦ Walk with a humble but positive attitude and not arrogant attitude.
♦ Greet the Interviewer.
♦ Give your Resume in such a manner that it comes in his/ her hands as "Top to Bottom" run.
♦ Be honest in your replies.
